Envision compact crossover was released by Buick in 2016. We are now expecting to see refreshed version, which will be sold as 2018 Buick Envision. Buick will offer same range of trim levels as on current model. Those are Base, Preferred, Essence, Premium I and Premium II. 2018 Envision will share same underskin structure with Equinox model produced by Chevrolet. Speaking of Buick model range, Envision will be positioned between Encore and Enclave models. Buick Envision 2018 design should not change very much at all. Expect to see famous Buick waterfall grille up front. Inside the cabin, new Buick Envision Preferred and Base will be equipped with heated seats, keyless entry, pushbutton start, leather upholstery, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Envision Premium and Essence will have heated rear seats, heated steering wheel and tri-zone climate control. Premium II trim will get head-up instrument display and cooled front seats. Buick will again offer Driver Confidence Package, but only in Premium models. This includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and surround-view camera.

2018 Buick Envision engine for Base, Preferred and Essence trims will be 2.5-liter 4-cylinder unit generating 197 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. Envision Premium models will be powered by 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with ability to produce 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be combined with 6-speed automatic transmission. Base model will have standard front-wheel drive, as well as the Essence and Preferred models. However, latter two will have optional all-wheel drive system. Premium models will come with improved all-wheel drive system called Twin Clutch AWD. New Envision will run on either 18- or 20-inch wheels, depending on the model. 2018 Buick Envision fuel economy specs should stay unchanged from the current model. Premium models are rated at 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, averaging 22 mpg. Other versions will do 22/29/25 mpg with front-wheel drive and 24/28/26 mpg with all-wheel drive.

2018 Buick Envision release date is scheduled for the third quarter of 2017. Main competitors on the market will be Volvo XC60, Cadillac ST5, Infiniti QX50, Audi Q5, Acura RDX and BMW X3. 2018 Buick Envision price for Base version will be set at $35,300. Fully equipped Premium II Envision will sell for around $51,000.
