Current sales of pickup trucks shows us that Chevy Colorado is positioned on the second place, just behind the leader Toyota Tacoma. GM will now release 2018 Chevrolet Colorado on the market. It will still be offered with two bed lengths and two body styles. First we have 128.3-inch wheelbase Colorado with four-door crew-cab and 5-foot 2-inch bed and two-door extended cab with 6-foot 2-inch long cargo bed. Second choice is 140.5-inch wheelbase Colorado with four-door crew-cab with 6-foot 2-inch long bed. Trims that are offered in 2018 Chevy Colorado are Base, Work Truck, LT, Z71 and ZR2. Last two are Colorado off-road models. Speaking of design changes, upcoming 2018 Colorado should get new front fascia, similar to the one found on Silverado. Rear end will also get refreshed as well as the interior. Inside the cabin, Colorado could get improved Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, revised steering wheel and redesigned instrument panel. 2018 Colorado base model will be equipped with rearview camera, power mirrors and power driver’s seat. Work Truck model come with carpeting and rear sets. Colorado LT trim is equipped with 8-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system, remote keyless entry and aluminum details. As we said before Z71 trim is off-road oriented Colorado, and it comes with off-road suspension, underbody skid plates, automatic locking rear differential, automatic climate control, power front-passenger seats and dampened rear tailgate. 2018 Chevrolet Colorado engine should be 2.5-liter 4-cylinder unit generating 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. Second choice is 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Last one is 2.8-liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine with ability to deliver 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. 6-speed manual transmission will be standard on Colorado with 2.5-liter engine. Colorado V6 will come with 8-speed automatic transmission. All models will get standard all-wheel drive. Work Truck Colorado will have part-time all-wheel drive with low-range gear. LT and Z71 models will come equipped with Autotrac full-time 4WD system with low-range gear. 2018 Chevrolet Colorado fuel economy ratings should slightly improve thanks to new 8-speed automatic gearbox. 2017 Colorado fuel economy is rated at 22 mpg average for 2.5-liter engine and FWD, while AWD is set at 21 mpg. 3.6-liter engine with 8-speed gearbox and RWD will do 18/25/20 mpg, while 4WD can do 17/24/19 mpg. Diesel version is rated at 22/30/25 mpg for 2WD and 20/28/23 mpg for 4WD. Off-road ZR2 Colorado specs are not so great, it will only do 16/18/17 mpg.

2018 Chevrolet Colorado release date is expected sometimes at the end of 2017.
