2018 Chrysler 300 Redesign

2018 chrysler 300 release date price

Rumors and speculations about new Chrysler 300 are present for a long time now. Current models underpinnings have been on the market since 2004, and Chrysler definitely needed refreshment. FCA Group officially announced that 2018 Chrysler 300 will be offered very soon. Among other things, they said that future 300 model will have front wheel based platform.

Considering that current model is offered with all-wheel drive and V8 engine, then this is really huge step for Chrysler. If they use this new platform, then obviously big V8 engines are out of the picture. There are still no details about design, but it will probably retain its famous muscular and boxy design. Shorter wheelbase and shorter hood are also expected on future 2018 Chrysler 300. Current model is already very comfortable car, but with the release of new model, comfort will be even more improved.

2018 Chrysler 300 engine performance specs

Considering that upcoming Chrysler 300 will use front-wheel drive platform, it is highly unlikely that it will get V8 engine as before. Instead, future 2018 Chrysler 300 engine choice will consist of two V6 units.  V6 engine in base model will produce around 320 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. Second engine could be either 3.2 or 3.6-liter turbocharged V6 powertrain. Maximum power that could be squeezed from this Chrysler V6 engine is set at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Chrysler 300 fuel economy specs are not announced so far. They should be available after some more Chrysler 300 road testing.
