2018 dodge challenger concept

During recent years, it seems like Dodge has been left behind with their Challenger model. Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro were way more successful than Challenger. Development mules have been spied during open road testing, which means we will soon get all new 2018 Dodge Challenger.

As we could see from these first pictures, future Challenger will have new design, longer wheelbase and it will be smaller. Also, production of upcoming Challenger has been done on all-new platform. Although there were some rumors that Dodge will use Alfa Romeo based platform, that is not the case. New 2018 Challenger will be perfect combination of amazing performance and great comfort. It is expected to get all new design, both on the exterior and interior. But at the end, it should remain loyal to true muscle car design.

2018 Dodge Challenger engine performance

2018 Dodge Challenger engine lineup should consist of more efficient turbocharged units. 2018 Challenger will most likely be powered by 2.0-litre turbocharged inline 4. This unit is capable of developing 270 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. New twin turbocharged V6 engine will replace old 5.7-liter V8 and 3.6-liter V6. New V6 engine will generate between 350 and 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Also, some speculations suggest that big and old Hemi engines will be gone. It should be replaced with new V8 twin-turbocharged unit. If this V8 is to be equipped turbocharging and supercharging, it could deliver more than 700 horsepower. There is no information about 2018 Challenger fuel economy specs.
