FCA (Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles) company, owners of Dodge brand, will soon release new 2018 Dodge Journey. This midsize crossover will be offered in several different trims: SE, SXT, Crossroad, Crossroad PWS and GT. All models will be equipped with front-wheel drive as standard, while all-wheel drive will be available as optional upgrade. Speaking of 2018 Journey design changes, it will basically not receive any changes at all. It will have the same styling as before. Future Dodge Journey will have ability to accommodate 5 or 7 passengers in two or three rows of seats. SE model will be equipped with keyless entry, push button ignition and dual-zone climate control. Next in the line is SXT version, which will come with Uconnect infotainment system, three seating rows and tri-zone climate control. Higher trim levels will also get heated steering wheel, heated seats, remote engine start, power driver’s seat bigger touchscreen infotainment center and Alpine sound system.

2018 Dodge Journey engine lineup will carry over from current version. Base engine will be 2.4-liter 4-cylinder unit generating 173 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque. This engine is combined with front-wheel drive and 4-speed automatic transmission. Second choice is 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine with ability to produce 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This strong and powerful V6 engine comes mated to 6-speed automatic transmission. Both front and all-wheel drive are available with V6 Journey. Future Dodge Journey will also run on 17-inch wheels as standard, while 19-inch will be optional. 2018 Dodge Journey fuel economy specs are rated at 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, averaging 21 mpg in total for front-wheel drive version. V6 Journey with FWD will do 17 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in average, while V6 with AWD is rated at 16/24/19 mpg.
2018 Dodge Journey release date and price review
2018 Dodge Journey release date is expected in fall 2017. It will have many competitors on the market such as: Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, Kia Sorento, Toyota Highlander, Mazda CX-9, GMC Acadia and Chevy Traverse. 2018 Dodge Journey price range should go from around $22,000 for SE model up to around $33,000 for the GT trim.
