First appearance of Sorento SUV was back in 2003. It was 5-passenger SUV with body-on-frame construction. Over the years, Sorento evolved into 7-seater with unibody construction. New model will be released very soon, and it will be sold as 2018 Kia Sorento. Design of upcoming 2018 Sorento won’t be changed at all.
It will be same as on the current version. Sorento will be offered in several different trims: L, LX, RX, SX and SXL. Sorento is basically very equipped car. It has features such as Bluetooth connectivity, rearview camera, leather upholstery, 10-way power driver seats, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, heated and ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, power liftgate and even blind-spot alert with rear-cross traffic detection.

2018 Kia Sorento engine lineup will not change compared to current model. L and LX trims will be powered by 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine developing 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. Kia EX engine will be 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged unit generating 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Version with 3.3-liter V6 engine will produce 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. All engines will be coupled with 6-speed automatic transmission. 2018 Kia Sorento fuel economy ratings will carry over from previous version. 2.4-liter engine with FWDS will do 21/28/24 mpg (city/highway/average), while AWD version will go 21/25/22 mpg. 2.0-liter turbo engine with FWD will do 20/27/23 mpg, while AWD will go 19/25/22 mpg. V6 engine with FWD can go 18/25/20 mpg and AWD version will do 18/25/21 mpg. SXL V6 model will do 17/23/19 mpg with all-wheel drive.
2018 Kia Sorento release date and price
2018 Kia Sorento price will range from $26,500 for base L model, all up to $$45,000 for the top of the range SXL version. Best rivals on the market will be Chevy Traverse, Toyota Highlander, GMC Acadia, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Santa Fe, Nissan Pathfinder, Mazda CX-9 and Ford Explorer. 2018 Kia Sorento release date is scheduled for the middle of 2017.
