We are expecting to see all-new Mazda midsize sedan, which will be the fourth generation of this car and it will be sold as 2018 Mazda 6. New version will be again offered in Sport, Touring and Grand Touring trims. Design of current Mazda 6 is still very fresh, so do not expect any drastic changes. Their Kodo design language is still looking amazing on every car they have released. Base Sport trim will run on 17-inch alloy wheels, while Touring and Grand Touring will get 19-inch rims. LED DLR’s and headlights should also be available on Touring model, but only as optional upgrade. Inside the cabin, Mazda 6 2018 Sport will be equipped with front bucket seats, 7-inch Mazda Connect touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity and pushbutton start. Mazda 6 Touring will come with power driver seat, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, Mazda Smart City Brake Support, blind-spot alert, rain sensors and rear cross-traffic detection. 2018 Mazda 6 Grand Touring equipment includes leather upholstery, heated front seats, power sunroof, steering-linked LED headlights, driver-seat memory, automatic steering, lane-departure warning, BOSE sound system and head-up display.

2018 Mazda 6 should be 2.4-liter 4-cylinder unit generating 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. Engine will be mated to a 6-speeed manual transmission as standard. Optional choice for lower two models and standard on top of the range Grand Touring trim would be 6-speed automatic transmission. 2018 Mazda 6 fuel economy specs should be rated same as 2017 model. 2017 Mazda 6 with manual gearbox can do 24 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, averaging 28 mpg overall, while automatic model is rated at 26/35/29 mpg. Mazda 6 Grand Touring fuel efficiency is improved to 27/35/30 mpg thanks to Mazda i-ELOOP regenerative engine braking system.
2018 Mazda 6 release date and price review
2018 Mazda 6 release date is expected during summer of 2017. Main rivals on the market will be Chevy Malibu, Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, Kia Optima, Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Hyundai Sonata. 2018 Mazda 6 price could be slightly higher than on 2017 model. Current models are priced as follows: $22,820 for the base Sport trim, $25,000 for the Touring and $31,570 for the Grant Touring model.
