2018 Ram 1500 Redesign

2018 ram 1500 release date price

New highly camouflaged 2018 Ram 1500 truck was caught on the road during a test drive. We expect to see some changes and improvements on future Ram 1500. This truck will definitely use body on frame design. At first, it was said that Ram 1500 will be built from aluminum. Now it seems like it will only have aluminum hood, roof and maybe fenders. Other parts like the doors and chassis will be made out of high-strength steel.

While the bed will be made out of regular steel. Biggest change on new 2018 Ram 1500 truck is its length. Upcoming model is obviously longer than its predecessor, and maybe even wider. This also means that it will probably get longer cabin, as well as the doors, both front and rear. Also expect more space inside the cabin, than on the current version. At the back, future Ram 1500 will get all new modular tailgate. Interior design will most likely remain the same, but it could end up with some small improvements.

2018 Ram 1500 engine and fuel economy specs

There is still nothing about 2018 Ram 1500 engine lineup. It is only certain that it will have 6-lug wheels. Ram will definitely improve towing capacity on this model. Spy shots are also showing twin-exhaust system mounted at the back of the test mule. This could mean that it is using either HEMI engine or the EcoDiesel. HEMI engine has been officially discontinued from the market, so it is highly unlikely that Ram will use this engine. If they go with the EcoDiesel version, it will have to be significantly improved. We expect better towing capacity and improved fuel economy. If Ram wants to stay competitive, they will have to add a few more engine choices to their lineup. All engines should be mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission.
