Although Volvo became famous as Swedish car manufacturer, it is now owned by a Chinese company. With latest models, Volvo had a lot of success on the markets across the World. This will probably be the case with new 2018 Volvo XC40. This model will not be smaller version of bigger XC90. Instead it will be completely redesigned car. It should be produced on all-new CMA platform, which was already used in V40 and S40 models.
This platform is actually a rear-wheel drive platform, which is pretty interesting. New 2018 XC40 shares the same grille design with every Volvo 40 series car. Except that, nothing else is the same. For example, headlights are completely different in every other model. Inside the cabin, we are expecting to see some changes for the production model. Future CX40 will have rather minimalistic design, with some interesting design solutions. Speaking of high-tech features and systems, XC40 will probably get autonomous driving as standard equipment.
2018 Volvo XC40 engine and fuel economy specs
2018 Volvo XC40 engine lineup will be changed completely compared to the current model. Base XC40 will be powered by 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This unit will be able to develop almost 200 horsepower. Volvo has also announced that they will sell a lot more electric and hybrid cars in the future. So we are expecting both hybrid and all-electric versions of new XC40. Future Volvo XC40 hybrid should produce around 300 horsepower. All-electric XC40 for 2018 will have more than 200 miles of range. 2018 Volvo XC40 fuel economy specs will be available in the near future, after some detailed testing.
2018 Volvo XC40 release date and price review
2018 Volvo XC40 price has not been officially announced by the company so far. Same thing is with XC40 release date as well.
